Summary:
After the 31 days of paleo challenge, I have noticed the following results:
1. When you plan meals for the week, keep a journal, and hold yourself accountable: things go much better than when traveling.
2. Food choices directly impact your mood, fitness levels, and ability to workout.
3. A few cheats here and there won’t kill you, but they do accumulate and will set your progress back over time.
4. A hybrid paleo diet, it something I would like to continue to eat moving forward. There will always be times when I cheat, or get of the Paleo wagon, but eating health overall is something I can strive for.
Leading up to the Final 31 Days of Paleo workout, I had been on the road traveling for nearly 2.5 weeks. I found it next to impossible to get in workouts and keep a strict paleo diet, and during the workout I felt it. I felt sluggish, and struggled through the burpees again. It took me over 5 min to complete the 31 burpees. Also, since being back from traveling and off the paleo diet, I have seen a significant down turn in recovery time. I tend to feel worse in the mornings after a workout, and have been have much more overall body pain.
Overall, I don’t think I accomplished enough to take home the $$$. But I learn a much more valuable lesson, in overall health and fitness. You get out, what you put in. And it matters!
