Height: 5’6
Weight: 134
Waist: 32”
Hips: 37”
31 Days of Paleo Challenge: 13:28 with 20" box, yellow band for pull-ups, 8lb wall ball, and 12kg kb swings
After Paleo Challenge: 13:03 (those burpees get me every time)
Original Goals set at beginning of the challenge:
1) Through Paleo, lean out (not necessarily lose weight but tone stomach, thighs and arms).
2) Increase endurance on running workouts
3) Complete an unassisted pull-up
Follow-up on those goals after 31 days:
1) As for my measurements, nothing numerically changed but overall, I felt better. For example, there was one morning that I woke Marshall up to describe that my pants fit differently. I was ecstatic- don't think Marshall was as ecstatic about me waking him up:) Also, I will say that I've never been a girl who wanted to wear sleeveless shirts, and in this past week I've worn two. I know that doesn't sould like such a big deal, but it actually is for me. I never felt toned in my arms and felt a little self-conscious about how they looked. I'm glad that I'm growing in my confidence through Crossfit, and with continued good diet choices, things can get even better.
2) I'm liking running a bit more, and don't find it as hard as when I first started the challenge. I want to continue to push myself here, and I'm eager to learn a bit more about Pose running.
3) Yep, got my pull-up. I think I told everyone under the sun, and if they were a crossfitter, they totally understood my excitement. Can't say that my non-Crossfit friends really understood:)
Overall, I think this challenge was a great way to take a look at how my diet influences my body and performance in workouts. I definitely fell off the wagon when I started traveling for 2 weeks in mid-March, and know I will have times like that in the future. The good thing is that I know how good I can feel and look when I am working out and making smart food choices, and that will help me regulate those "cheats" in the future.
To our trainers....Mike K, Mike G, Bethanie, Peter, Brandon, and now Whitney...Y'all are awesome! Thanks for pushing us everyday and making crossfit a fun way to live! We're glad we drank the koolaid!
